Pro version still great

I've used Live Home 3D a few times now for different projects. This last time I grabbed the Live Home 3D Pro for Mac again. It's just as reliable as my previous purchases. The Floor Plan Creator and 3D Room Visualizer features work smoothly every time. I appreciate the consistency; it makes starting a new design much easier since I know what to expect. Always happy with the outcome.

Good value with discount

I was looking for a decent 3D home design app that wouldn't break the bank. I signed up for their newsletter and got an offer, which made buying Live Home 3D for Windows a pretty sweet deal. The Project Export to OBJ feature was really useful for something I needed. It felt like I got a lot of bang for my buck, especially considering the price after the discount. Without that, I might have gone with a cheaper option, but this felt worth it.

Do they ever do a student discount? I'm trying to design my apartment layout for a school project and Pro would be super helpful.

S Sam H. 2 months ago
Yes, they absolutely do! You'll need to check their site, but I remember seeing an option for educational licenses at a pretty good price.

Definitely look into it. Most software companies offer student rates, and Live Home 3D is one of them. Could save you a bunch.

Is the free version super limited or can I actually get some basic floor plans done before deciding if I need the Pro features?

A Amber Z. 2 months ago
The free version is pretty decent for basic stuff. You can definitely lay out a floor plan and mess around with some furniture.

It's good for getting a feel for it. You'll hit limits on exports and some of the cooler features pretty fast, but it's enough to see if you like the interface.

Thinking of getting Live Home 3D for a small reno project, but kinda tight on cash. Any deals ever pop up for the Pro version?

T Troy Torres 2 months ago
Yeah, they totally do! I got my Pro license during a Black Friday sale a couple years ago, it was like 40% off. Keep an eye out around holidays.

They also have educational discounts if you're a student, might be worth checking if that applies to you.

Anyone know if you can use Live Home 3D on like, a Mac and an iPad with just one purchase? Or do I need to buy it separately for each device?

W Wendy Patel 2 months ago
I think if you get it through the Apple App Store, it usually covers both Mac and iPad because they're linked to your Apple ID. That's how it worked for me with other apps.

It depends on how you buy it. If you grab it direct from their site it might be different, but App Store usually makes it pretty seamless across Apple devices.

how easy is it to import custom stuff, like 3D models I found online, into Live Home 3D? Is it a pain?

A Anna Nguyen 1 month ago
It's actually pretty straightforward! I've brought in models from Trimble 3D Warehouse before without any issues.

Yeah, you can import OBJ or FBX files, so if you find something in those formats it should work. Just drag and drop sometimes.

Thinking about getting Live Home 3D Pro. Is it better than SketchUp for designing interiors, or should I stick with SketchUp?

N Noor L. 2 months ago
Live Home 3D is super focused on residential design, so it's probably easier for interiors if you're not already a SketchUp wizard. SketchUp can do anything but has a steeper learning curve for quick home stuff.

I found Live Home 3D much more intuitive for houses. SketchUp is powerful but a bit more general purpose, you know?
